The design proposal from the Zaha Hadid Architects’ studio successfully transforms what was once an ordinary space to an exciting new dimension in interiors. Zaha Hadid’s inspiration was elemental water in all its forms and the result is a spectacular and influential space in the heart of London’s Chelsea Harbour.
Zaha Hadid and her team have created a design that is not just purely visual, it also uses the art of precision and control to help the visitor understand the relationship between the architecture of the space and the design of Roca bathroom products.

Paris-based designer Matali Crasset has envisioned ‘Maisons Sylvestre’, four small dwellings or ‘feral houses’. The structures are made from combinations of acacia wood, douglas pine and galvanized steel which camouflage themselves into the landscape.
each cabin is outfitted with a wood stove, gas lights, compost toilets and an outdoor water supply facility.
‘these lightweight structures are foundation-free and can be moved around the forest without harming nature or upsetting the ecosystem,‘ says Matali Crasset.

Ripietra tiles look like natural stone, but are completely made of recycled material. The composite material is produced by extrusion and moulding, consisting of 55% polyethylene derived from urban waste and 45% of wood derived from industrial processing waste. The material is sturdy and weather resistant: it does not deform under the sun and does not freeze, for instance. Furthermore, the material is resistant to chemical agents and does not require maintenance. The tiles are anti slip.

Not content with being the subject of an expansive retrospective at the Barbican, debating post-modernism at the V&A, opening the new Maggie’s Centre Glasgow and putting the finishing touches to the New Court Rothschild Bank HQ in the City, Rem Koolhaas has also taken time out from his global schedule to launch his new book, ‘Project Japan, Metabolism Talks…’ A collaboration with his long-term co-conspirator Hans Ulrich Obrist, the book is an oral and visual history of one of the most influential, yet elusive, movements in modern architecture, the Japanese Metabolist Movement.
